Our Drop Spot relied on volunteers to operate. Volunteer applications and orientations were run through the Vancouver Farmers Markets.
Volunteers were sought for:

- Drop Spot Squad – Set up, attend, and take down the Drop Spot. Drop Spot Squad volunteers were there to ensure that the collection is contamination free, support the Droppers, engage with potential community members, and be an ambassador for the program. (Drop Spot Squad volunteers at Farmers Market had the additional role of supporting the Farmers Market team with making the market a greener event.) – Commitment: 2-3 hours per shift, ideally 1-2 shift per month.

- Marketing and outreach – be at community events or other marketing/outreach efforts to help spread the word about the program and educate the public about waste reduction initiative – Commitment: event dependent.
- Data entry and research – help enter Dropper postal codes and other data collected at the Drop Spot. Help come up with research and survey questions and help generate information for reporting purposes – Commitment: to be determined.
